Become Someone Else

Have you ever read a book that is just so descriptive and so intriguing that you are completely immersed in that world?  Are books that you may so closely identify with the character it's as if you are in their shoes?  I know I have. A Luthianian ad acency Love Agency brought this experience for a campaign for Vientu Mint.

There is nothing like sticking your nose in a book and being transformed both literally and imaginatively.

What is one book you have read that completely drew you in?

  1. The Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky. Sure, it's a children's book series, but that doesn't make it simplistic. I connected with the characters in a way I haven't done in awhile. Reading the adventures of Soren, Gylfie, Twilight and Digger... Amazing owls carrying out noble deeds in the name of all that is good and true. It was like a spark had been set in my heart.

Being an English major exposes me to a lot of literature, sure, but... not a lot that I actually become invested in. Maybe it's the curriculum they want to cram into my brain, these authors that THEY think are utterly fantastic, but just imagine what I'd be walking away with if I could actually read what I want to.

I think when you laugh and cry with the characters, you've found a good book.
